Michael Takes a Ride

Michael goes up, up, up!

We had our last "Family Friday" today at Chuck E. Cheez. The kids had a blast playing all the games and getting on rides. We could barely get them to sit still long enough to eat some pizza! What a fun way to end summer school. Thank you, parents, for taking time to have some fun with your kids!

Siblings go to School

Sharing snacks with siblings

Celeste and Hayley, siblings of two of our students, joined us this week at school. The two girls got to see what it was like to go to school at "Hannah's Hope" and enjoyed participating with all of the children.

Celeste and Hayley have become good friends!

Last Week of Summer School

Ms. Gloria helps Eric plant seeds

This is our last week of school for the summer at "Hannah's Hope". It is also the last week at the Santa Fe location. We will be moving into the house on Chaparral over the weekend.

During the last week of school, siblings will also attend and participate in activities with our children. We will have our last "Family Friday" with a trip to Chuck E. Cheez.

Special thanks goes to Ms. Gloria for helping us while Ms. Chriselda attends a conference this week.

Hannah's Back!

Hannah practices matching skills

One of our students, Hannah, was hospitalized over the weekend with pneumonia. She is now back in school and doing well. I think she missed her teachers. Another student, Brandon, was glad to see Hannah. He hugged and kissed her when she returned. She missed him, too!

Swimming Up a Storm

Michael takes aim!

While it rained and thundered outside, our students and their families had fun swimming in an indoor pool. Yes, it was "Family Friday" and we drove over the bridge once again, to Portland, to go swimming at the home of Jim and Sue West.

Hannah squealed with delight as she entered the pool. Michael liked shooting the teachers with his water gun. Mary Elizabeth became very brave after she managed to put on three floating devices before she got in the pool. Hayley and Ethan spent their time splashing everyone as they jumped off the diving board. Ms. Chriselda played games with her nephews, Alex and Matthew. We all had a really good time.

I'm not too sure the kids even knew it was raining outside. . .

Hannah's Hope Shirts Are Here!

Hannah's Hope polo shirt

We are now selling Hannah's Hope shirts. This is a great way to "get the word out" about what we are trying to do for children with autism in our community.

There are two styles to choose from. We have polo style shirts with the logo embroidered on the top left side of the shirt, or t-shirts with a screenprint logo on the front and our mission statement on the back. Both styles are available in youth and adult sizes (S-XXL).

If you are interested in purchasing a shirt, email marshacoulter@hotmail.com and ordering information will be sent to you.

Thank you for supporting Hannah's Hope.

Happy Fourth of July!

Hannah's Hope will be closed Monday and Tuesday, July 4th and 5th so our staff and students can enjoy the holiday with family and friends. We will be back to our usual schedule Wednesday which will continue until our last day of class for the summer, July 29th.
At this time, we are planning to begin the school year on August 22nd. Students will attend a full day program from 8:30-2:30 Mondays-Thursdays and 8:30-1:30 on Fridays. By that time, we will be in our new location on Chaparral Street.
